Three separate cases have been filed against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda for irregularities and vote rigging in Jashore’s Bagharpara pourasava election. Another case has been filed against a rival candidate and election officials concerned on the same charges. Taking the allegation into cognisance, Jashore’s first joint district Judge Asif Iqbal, also judge of the election tribunal has summoned them.

Ward-2 (reserve) councillor candidate Golapi Khatun, ward-3 councillor candidate Jyotsna Habib, ward-1 councillor candidate Rabiul Islam and ward-5 councillor candidate Sohel Rana filed the cases on Wednesday.

Election to Bagharpara Pourasava was held on February 14. On that day, the plaintiffs lodged complaints to the election officers bringing allegations that their rival candidates violated electoral code of conducts misusing power.
