Dengue is taking a terrible shape throughout the country. The number of affected patients is increasing every day. Along with that, the death list is also getting longer. If effective measures are not taken to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes, experts believe that dengue will take a more serious form in the coming months.

The pressure of dengue patients is increasing in various hospitals of the country including the capital. So far this year, 27 thousand 384 people have been admitted to hospital due to dengue. Out of this, 24 thousand 312 people got clearance. 141 people died.

The patients of DNCC dengue hospital in Mohakhali said that the situation has become complicated because they did not come to the hospital in time. On the other hand, the relatives of the patients said that the elderly and children are suffering the most. Due to lack of awareness, the number of victims is increasing.

Director of Mohakhali DNCC Dengue Specialized Hospital said that dengue patients are increasing day by day from 10th of this month. Everyone has to be more responsible in dealing with the situation.

DNCC Chief Executive Officer Mir Khairul Alam said that they are working according to the plans that were made earlier regarding dengue. He admitted that there is a little problem due to the lack of councilors.

Experts say that if the situation is not controlled soon, the outbreak of dengue will take a more serious form in October. Especially Dhaka and 18 districts outside Dhaka are at high risk. They are the capital Dhaka, Bandarban, Cox's Bazar, Chittagong, Chandpur, Laxmipur, Barisal, Barguna, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Bhola, Khulna, Jessore, Narail, Meherpur, Mymensingh, Madaripur and Manikganj. Especially in Cox's Bazar, the overcrowding and unhealthy environment caused by the Rohingya camp is drawing eyes towards Cox's Bazar and Chittagong.

Dr. expert doctor. Atiqur Rahman said that in addition to the use of anti-mosquito drugs to prevent dengue, the City Corporation should conduct campaigns everywhere. At the same time, everyone should be aware.

Entomologist Dr. Manjur Chowdhury says that only prison and fines and increasing public awareness will not work. Appropriate measures should be taken with proper manpower by carrying out survey properly.

It should be noted that in the history of the country in 2023, 3 lakh 21 thousand 179 patients were affected by dengue and 1 thousand 705 people died.
