Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor M Atiqul Islam Wednesday said that cases and fines will be imposed if Aedes larvae are found in houses and buildings.
Drones are being used to detect stagnant water and mosquito breeding grounds on roofs. However, strict measures will be taken if Aedes larvae are found in houses and any buildings. Regular cases and fines will be imposed," he said during an anti-dengue awareness campaign in at Khilbarirtek area under DNCC's ward no. 39 on Wednesday, said a press release.
The city corporation is conducting regular anti-dengue awareness campaigns to stop the spread of dengue disease.
The mayor said DNCC is working with the highest priority to curb the dengue outbreak. It is not only possible for the city corporation alone, but the people also have to take responsibility for complete eradication.
He urged city dwellers to clean their homes and surroundings every Saturday to stop formation of Aedes mosquito breeding grounds.
"Let us clean our homes and surroundings every Saturday at 10am for 10 minutes," said the mayor.
