A few days later, Eid al-Adha. The residents of the city have already started preparing to leave the capital to share the joy of Eid with their relatives. All kinds of measures have been taken by the concerned departments of the government to make the Eid trip smooth. Moreover, the roads and highways have also been greatly improved in recent years. But as always, all the initiatives are about to collapse due to hundreds of animal markets occupying the highway around Eid. Along with the traffic congestion on the roads and highways, the risk of accidents is looming during the Eid journey.

It is estimated that at least 1.2 million people from Dhaka and surrounding districts will leave for home on this Eid trip. A large part of this will travel by road. At least 50 thousand buses and minibuses will run across the country. Compared to other years, the Eid journey is expected to be much more enjoyable as the road infrastructure is better this year. However, before the start of the journey, the joy is about to fade due to the entanglement of sacrificial animals and buyers and sellers on the way.

Those concerned say that Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has identified 155 places prone to traffic jams across the country. The organization has also prepared policies for proper management of these places. But in the last moment none of these things will work.

Secretary General of Bangladesh Passenger Welfare Association Mozammel Haque Chowdhury said, 'Now the condition of roads and highways is good. There will not be much suffering due to the road. However, I am afraid of traffic jam. Mismanagement will cause traffic jams. It is being observed from now on. There are 70-80 animal stalls along major national highways like Dhaka-Chittagong. The situation is the same on the northern route. But there is still scope to bring the highways into a controlled system.'

According to BRTA's calculations, around 217 animal stalls sit on the side of the highway during Eid al-Adha. Comilla area has the largest number of stalls on the highway. This slows down the traffic. A traffic jam is created. In addition, there is a risk of accidents.

In addition, there is a danger of long-distance vehicles getting into long traffic jams at the entrances and exits of the capital. Especially in Gabtali Aminbazar area there is cow market. Besides, there is a danger of long traffic jams in Nabinagar and Chandra areas after the closure of garment factories. Again, vehicles passing through Padma Bridge may have to face Mayor Mohammad Hanif flyover and traffic jams in Syedabad area.

Around Eid, cars with passengers will leave on one side, trucks with animals will enter on the other side; As a result, the roads will naturally be busier than before. As a result, the level of traffic will also increase compared to normal.

When asked about this, Khandkar Enayet Ullah, Secretary General of Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association, requested the concerned parties to ensure that the stalls on the side of the road do not move to the main road. The bus will not be as crowded as before. Many people are going long distance by motorcycle. Road condition is good. However, the speed may be reduced due to livestock vehicles. Concerned persons will be requested to pay attention to the fact that the stalls on the side of the road do not move to the main road.
