Sheikh Rehana, the youngest daughter of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and sister of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,
received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday.
She received the vaccine around 9:30am, according to the Press Wing, Prime Minister’s Office.
The nationwide vaccination in Bangladesh began on February 7. As of Tuesday, February 23, more than 2.49 million people have received the first shot of the vaccine – developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca – in the country.
Many noted personalities and ministers have already taken jabs of Covid-19 vaccine.
The vaccines are being administered at 1005 centres across the country.
