The tourist centers of the district have been declared closed again in the second phase due to the deterioration of the flood situation in Sylhet due to continuous rains and upstream flows. Sylhet Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Mobarak Hossain confirmed the matter on Tuesday (June 18).
Several rivers in Sylhet flowed over the border on Tuesday. Various tourist spots including white stone, Jaflong, Bisthakandi are submerged in it.
Sylhet Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Mubarak Hossain said, it has been decided to close the tourist centers of Sylhet from Tuesday until further instructions. Upazila Nirbahi officials have been instructed to close the tourist centers of Sylhet due to the flood situation. They have already been implemented.
Incidentally, on May 30, due to the flood situation, the concerned upazila executive officers and convenors of the upazila tourism development committee announced the closure of the tourist centers for the first time. After about a week, when the flood situation improved, the tourist centers were reopened.
