Mahmudullah believes currently he’s at the best fitness level
Bangladesh veteran Mahmudullah Riyad having a good series against visitors Sri Lanka as he scored 54 and 48 runs in first two matches and helped the Tigers to seal the first bilateral series over Lankan Lions.
“Alhamdulillah. Looks like I am at the best fitness level of my career. I have been working on it for the last two to three years. Trying to stay fit, running, gym, extra running, extra gym ... I have to do a lot of balancing work, have to do maintenance work” said Mahmudullah during press conference Thursday.
Mahmudullah has been suffering from shoulder injury for a long time. Due to this he could not bowl. There was also inertia in batting. Mahmudullah overcame that injury and got back to form with the bat. Mahmudullah has repeated same words as Captain Tamim Iqbal, who said after the second match that Bangladesh have not played a perfect match yet.
“These are the things I try to do. I try to keep my fitness good. The wicket is getting better. I think the batting should be good. And what I said first is we haven't been able to give our best output yet. Hope I can do it in tomorrow's (Friday) match,” he added.
