Tigers look forward to a clean sweep

Bangladesh Cricket Team on Tuesday prevailed through a looming threat of cyclone and registered a thumping 103-run victory over Sri Lanka in Mirpur. The victory sealed the Tigers’ first-ever bilateral series win over the Lankans and with it, Bangladesh also recovered from a gloomy period into a state of steadiness, for the time being, in their cricketing adventure.

Bangladesh are now at the summit of the ICC ODI Super League table with 50 points in eight matches, and that ought to lift the Tigers’ spirit as they achieved all this coming on the back of nine losses out of 10 matches across formats.

Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka for the third and final ODI of the 3 match series today. The hosts will look forward to a white wash which will help them gain more momentum and advantage in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League table.

Mahmudullah believes currently he’s at the best fitness level

Bangladesh veteran Mahmudullah Riyad having a good series against visitors Sri Lanka as he scored 54 and 48 runs in first two matches and helped the Tigers to seal the first bilateral series over Lankan Lions.

“Alhamdulillah. Looks like I am at the best fitness level of my career. I have been working on it for the last two to three years. Trying to stay fit, running, gym, extra running, extra gym ... I have to do a lot of balancing work, have to do maintenance work” said Mahmudullah during press conference Thursday.

Mahmudullah has been suffering from shoulder injury for a long time. Due to this he could not bowl. There was also inertia in batting. Mahmudullah overcame that injury and got back to form with the bat. Mahmudullah has repeated same words as Captain Tamim Iqbal, who said after the second match that Bangladesh have not played a perfect match yet.

“These are the things I try to do. I try to keep my fitness good. The wicket is getting better. I think the batting should be good. And what I said first is we haven't been able to give our best output yet. Hope I can do it in tomorrow's (Friday) match,” he added.

Naim included in squad for 3rd ODI

Opening batsman Mohammad Naim has been included in the Bangladesh ODI squad for the third and final match of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, confirmed the BCB.

Bangladesh earlier announced a 15-member squad for the ODI series and a four-member standby list.  Naim was in the standby list initially in the first two matches, and has now been included in the squad for Friday's third ODI at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
