BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, 'No excuse will be tolerated. Tariq Rahman should be given an opportunity to return home immediately after withdrawing all the cases. If the cases filed against BNP activists are not withdrawn, there will never be a neutral situation.'

He said these things in a speech given at the Kapasia Government Pilot High School ground in Gazipur at the memorial meeting of late BNP Standing Committee member Brigadier General (Retd.) Hannan Shahr on Friday (September 27) afternoon.

Secretary General of BNP said, 'The crisis is not over even if Hasina fled. People believe that democracy should be established through free elections. He urged to vote as soon as possible by creating an environment suitable for elections.

He said, 'Awami League is still doing various conspiracies. He wants to destabilize the country by plotting. Awami League can create various unstable situations around Durga Puja. Everyone should be alert. Hindu brothers are citizens of this country. I assure you, any incident will be dealt with unitedly.'

Mirza Fakhrul said, 'Reasonable time does not mean too much time. The sooner elections are held, the better off the country will be. Urgent reforms and transfer of power to the people through elections. If necessary to establish democracy, I will again protest on the streets.

He said, 'After defeating the Awami government in the students' uprising, they got a chance to catch their breath. This opportunity was not created in a day. They destroyed all democratic institutions. The administration, judiciary, economy have axed everything to retain power. Sheikh Hasina's government thought it would stay in power for the rest of its life. There was a plan to build a mountain of wealth by holding on to power by tyrant-oppression.'

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "Those who one day sent Khaleda Zia to jail in a false case, are now going to jail for corruption."
