The eminent writer breathed his last at a hospital on Wednesday, his daughter-in-law Masuma Maimur confirmed in a Facebook post.
According to the social media post, he had been hospitalised five times since being diagnosed with prostate cancer on October 31.
He had been on life support since January 10 and suffered a stroke and heart attack prior to his death, she further wrote.
