Obscure is one of the oldest musical band in Bangladesh. The band, which started in 1985, caused a stir across the country at the beginning of the journey. Obscure's only success story since the beginning of the journey, the story of the audience soaked in the love of the audience. As a vocalist, Tipu could build his own solo career if he wanted to. Because at one time he released solo albums 'Ekaki Ekjan' (1990), 'Bhaber Pagal' (1992), 'Rangdhanu To Chai' (2006) and the latest Rabindra Sangeet album 'Sakali Furalo' (2006). But he had no plans to leave Obscure and pursue a career alone. In this context, Tipu said, "My dream was to establish the band. That's why when I was releasing my solo albums, I had a feeling in my mind that playing like this is actually harmful for my team. Obscure's first album, released from Sargam in 1975, was Obscure Volume One. A number of other songs from the album, including 'Majh Ratey Chad Jodi Alo Na Bilai', and 'Kalikaler Vondobaba', got a huge response from the audience. With the first album, 'Obscure' also got a response in the music industry as a band. Other groups also started thinking about them. This was followed by 'Obscure Volume Two', 'Swapnacharini', 'Ferate Tomay', 'Apekshaya Theko', 'Ichcher Dakadaki', 'Fera', 'Obscure and Bangladesh', 'Stop Genocide', and many more. Albums and songs are released.”

Regarding learning his own music and getting into music life, Tipu said, “It is very true that I have no formal education in music. Ever since I was a child, I used to listen to songs by venerable Manna Dey, Sandhya Mukherjee, Lata Mungeshkar and Asha Bhosle. Listening to Tapan Da's song from the Bangladeshi band Souls made me feel bad. Tapan Dadai is the main inspiration for my song. Then walking in the world of music, still going. The audience in this country loves me very much, I don't know if I deserve to be loved by them. I don't know if I have done anything to reciprocate their love. The love that I have received from people in this short life is a great achievement.” Tipu is currently involved in the garment business with his friend Alim as well as singing. Tipu's father Himmat Ali (died 1991) and mother Anwara Akhter (died 1982) were born on January 17, 1986. He has one daughter Anaya and one son Ayon. In Taukir Ahmed's 'Cinnamon Island', he has played SI Tutul's melody only once in his life.
