The movie 'Sfulingo' directed by Tauquir Ahmed was made on the occasion of centenary of the birth of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On the occasion of the release, a premiere show was held at a cinema hall in the capital last Wednesday evening. The guests, as always, praised the movie made by Tauquir Ahmed.

The movie is based on the story, dialogue and screenplay of Tauquir Ahmed. Actress Zakia Bari Mamo, who won the National Film Award for her first film starring in 'Cinnamon Island' under the direction of Tauquir Ahmed, has acted in this movie. Popular actors of this generation including Shyamal Mawla, Parimani, Raunak Hasan, Abul Hayat, Karvi Mizan and many others have acted in this movie. In the story of the movie, the audience will see Mamo as ‘Irene’, Shyamal as ‘Pertho’ and Parimani as ‘Diba’.

Speaking after starring in the movie, Mamo said, “After more than 13 years of working under the direction of Tauquir bhai, I am still scared to act in front of the camera out of respect for him. Even then, I have tried to portray the character in this movie as best I can. Tauquir bhai is undoubtedly one of the most talented directors of his time, who works knowingly. He is repeatedly bringing Bangladeshi cinema to the court of the world. And not just the character ‘Irene’, I was in the character's journey with the whole story in mind.”

Parimani said, “Before I acted in the movie, Tauquir bhai told me whether I was ready for this daytime character or not, so he took me as the daytime character. All I had to do was blacken my colored hair to make it look brighter. I tried to make Diba complete with my acting.”

Tauquir Ahmed said, “I love working with those who are good at acting, not stars. Everyone who is acting in this movie is tested in acting. They did well, I am very optimistic about Sfulingo.”

Pintu Ghosh has directed the music for the movie.
