Filmmaker Khandaker Sumon’s directorial venture ‘Saatao’, which won the Critics’ Award in the Bangladesh Panorama Section at the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival, is scheduled to be screened in 63 districts today.
The film will be screened in a film festival titled ‘Ganajagarane Chalachitra Utshab’, organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy under way at branches of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy across the country from December 29, 2023 to January 5, 2024.
‘It is undoubtedly good news that a film will be screened simultaneously in 63 districts. I invite all to watch it,’ said Khandaker Sumon.
Saatao gives film lovers a glimpse into the plight of the marginalised people in society. It revolves around the everyday life of people living in villages near rivers.
The film also shows how villagers get exploited by loan sharks, the struggles of farmers and more.
Produced by Sharif Ul Anwar Sazzan and made under the banner of Idea Exchange, Aynun Nahar Putul and Fazlul Haque played lead roles in the film.
