Film actor and model Romana Islam Swarna, who was arrested in a fraud case, has been released on bail. She was recently granted bail by the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Moniruzzaman Mandal confirmed the information.
According to court sources, the court granted bail to
accused Romana Islam in the custody of the plaintiff. Earlier, on March 11,
Saudi expatriate businessman Kamrul Hasan filed a fraud case against Romana
Islam. Romana was arrested the day after the case.
In the case, Romana Islam was accused of embezzling 1 crore
46 lakh 80 thousand rupees through fraud.
The statement said that Kamrul Hasan, a Saudi expatriate
businessman, first met Romana Islam on Facebook in 2016. Later they became
friends. Romana took money from Kamrul Hasan to buy a car through friendship.
After Kamrul returned to the country, Romana married him in
2020 to get a trap. He also took money to buy a flat from her. Later, under
pressure, Kamrul divorced Hasan.
Qamrul then moved to Saudi Arabia again. Recently, Kamrul wants to return the car and flat he bought with his money back in the country. Romana and her accomplices threatened to kill Kamrul.
