The Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and their equivalent examinations of 2021 will take place on three elective subjects of each group, with a reduced syllabus.
Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Monday issued a press release in this regard signed by its exam controller SM Amirul Islam. The decision was made keeping the Covid-19 pandemic in mind, said the press release.
The release also said there would be no exams on mandatory subjects and the fourth or optional elective subjects this year as they were evaluated in the past JSC, JDC examinations. Results of these subjects will be decided based on subject mapping, which is done based on the previously taken JSC, JDC, SSC, and equivalent exam results of students.
However, students will not get the chance to change or amend the fourth subject in the student registration card, the release further said.
The education ministry assured this short version of the exams will not affect higher education admission.
