Educational institutions are going on a 17-day vacation on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation. This holiday will start from Thursday (June 13) and end on June 29. However, some educational institutions have reduced the leave to meet the learning deficit.
This information was known from the notice of several educational institutions of the capital on Wednesday (June 12). The educational institutions have given this notice in coordination with the annual holiday list of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and Education.
According to the notice of most institutions, all classes will be closed for 20 days from June 13 to June 29 on the occasion of summer vacation and holy Eid-ul-Azha. Classes will continue as usual from June 30.
Acting Principal of Vikarunnisa Noon School and College Keka Roy Chowdhury said, our holiday is from June 13 to 23. Classes will continue as usual from 24th. We have reduced the holidays to meet the shortfall of students' study time.
Rokonuzzaman Sheikh, assistant headmaster of Motijheel School and College, said, first we were given leave till July 2. But there is annual assessment. Taking that into consideration, the closure notice has been given till June 29. School will be open from June 30.
Holidays have been declared from June 13 to 29 in several institutions including Manipur High School and College.
Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (Secondary Wing) Professor Syed Zafar Ali applauded the reduction of leave.
He said that the annual assessment will start from July 3. Those who cut back on vacation did so for good. Educational institutions will be able to open up the assessment issues.
