As previously announced, Shakib Al Hasan's fans left for Mirpur after noon. However, police and army members stood in the way of their way to the main gate of Sher-e Bangla Stadium. Undeterred, Shakib's fans i.e. 'Sakibians' continued their agitation towards gate number one. The theme of their agitation was to allow Shakib to play his farewell test in the country.
They kept chanting, 'Who are you, who am I, Sakibiyan, Sakibiyan.' 'Kanpur or Mirpur, Mirpur, Mirpur.' They claim that Shakib has brought a lot of honor to the country. He should therefore be given the opportunity to leave the country.
Earlier they had given four point demands to BCB. The time to accept the claim was till 3 pm today. Because it was not fulfilled, they came with a long march towards Mirpur. After some time of agitation, suddenly a group ambushed the Sakibians.
Some people came with bamboo and sticks and attacked them. After the attack, when the Shakib fans wanted to go towards the second turn of the stadium, the law and order forces resisted them and chased them in the opposite direction. They also beat Shakib fans. By doing this, they are seen spreading in different directions.
Shakib's female fan Mahfuza told the media, 'We were holding a peaceful sit-in programme.
We were demanding. But in the presence of law and order forces, some people suddenly came and attacked us. Instead of resisting the attackers, they chased us too.' When asked about this, no one from the law enforcement agencies agreed to speak. The South African team was practicing inside the field during the entire incident.
