Strict restrictions imposed in Kushtia

Corona infection is increasing at an alarming rate in Kushtia. Especially since Eid, the rate of this infection has increased badly. In a notification issued by the district administration on June 16, it has been informed that 112 people have been affected by corona. So far, the death toll in the district has risen to 140. There are 63 of them in Sadar. Meanwhile, Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Islam issued a public notice on Friday, again imposing a strict seven-day ban in the city's municipal area to prevent corona infection.

The Kushtia Civil Surgeon's Office said in a press release that, on June 16, 112 positives were found. Of these, 326 PCR lab and 41 antigen test samples tested positive.

In the upazila based report, 65 people in Sadar, 16 people in Kumarkhali, 5 people in Daulatpur, 6 people in Bheramara, 4 people in Mirpur Upazila and 4 people in Khoksa tested positive. 

According to the district coronavirus prevention committee's decision on Thursday, all types of businesses, shopping malls, shops and restaurants in the municipality area will be closed from midnight on June 18 to June 25 due to high contamination.

However, raw material and daily necessities shops can be kept open from 8 am to 1 pm in accordance with the health rules.

All types of traffic will be closed in the municipality area during the time. No one can go out of the house except in case of urgent need (purchase of medicines and necessities, medical services, burial or burial). However, subject to the presentation of the card can be traveled for vaccination. All tourist destinations, resorts, community centers and recreation centers will be closed.

Social (wedding, birthday, picnic, party) political and religious ceremonies are closed. Everyone who travels in an emergency must wear a mask. Only emergency government construction work will be carried out in compliance with the hygiene rules and will be outside the scope of the ban on transportation of goods in this regard.

Law and order and emergency services such as agricultural inputs, food grains and food transport, relief distribution, health care, media (print and electronic media), all government departments or agencies involved in revenue collection will be covered by emergency services and their employees and vehicles are prohibited. There will be. As before, the industries will continue to operate under their own management following the hygiene rules. However, it is necessary to ensure that the workers are brought and taken by their respective organizations under their own transport management.

It is learned that the only institution of corona treatment in Kushtia is the 250-bed General Hospital. The authorities are struggling to treat the patients. There is no ICU bed in the hospital. Corona unit has only 41 beds. A new 36-bed ward has been prepared. According to the Civil Surgeon's Office, the district has 606 oxygen cylinders in stock. Of these cylinders, 348 are at the district level. There are 359 in different upazilas. There are also 42 oxygen concentrators. The isolation unit of Kushtia General Hospital has central oxygen supply in 10 beds.
