At the initiative of Nilphamari Zela Parishod, food items have been distributed among 2,490 helpless families in pandemic situation with the funds allocated by ADB.
The program was inaugurated on Thursday by distributing it to 560 families in Syedpur and Kishoreganj upazilas of the district.
Zela Parishod chairman Bir Muktijoddha Joynal Abedin distributed the food items among 260 families at the Dak Bangla Square of Syedpur upazila around 11am. Zela Parishod secretary Zainul Abedin, members Abdul Gafur, Shamim Chowdhury, municipal Awami League general secretary Mozammel Haque and others were present at the time. After that the food items were distributed to 300 families in Kishoreganj upazila.
Zela Parishod secretary Zainul Abedin said, food items would be distributed among 2,490 families from ADB funds for the 2020-2021 fiscal year in the Corona situation. This includes 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of lentils, one liter of edible oil.
At the beginning of the program on Thursday, it was distributed to 260 families in Syedpur and 300 families in Kishoreganj. The assistance will be provided to 310 families in Jaldhaka, 305 in Domar, 410 in Dimla and 65 in Nilphamari Sadar.
