Flood water is receding in Sylhet, sunshine has been seen

The water levels of several rivers in Sylhet, affected by heavy rains and landslides, have reduced at different points. As a result, the flood situation has improved in various areas. Meanwhile, after five days in the morning, the sun was seen in the sky of Sylhet. Some relief has returned to public life.

According to the information given by the Water Development Board (PUBO) till 9 am on Friday (June 21), water is flowing over the flood limit at Kanighat and Sylhet points of Surma river in Sylhet and Amalshid, Sheola, Fenchuganj and Sherpur points of Kushiara river. Except the water of Kushiara river in Fenchuganj has increased by 0.1 cm, the water has decreased by few centimeters in various places according to the calculation of yesterday evening.

At present, water is flowing above the boundary line at 0.61 cm Kanaighat Point, 0.14 cm at Sylhet Point, 0.55 cm at Amalshid Point, 0.05 cm at Sheola Point, 1.03 cm at Fenchuganj Point and 0.23 cm at Sherpur Point. .

Shah Mohammad Sajib Hossain, assistant meteorologist of Sylhet Meteorological Office, said that the amount of rain in the last 24 hours was 20 millimeters. It did not rain from yesterday afternoon to this morning.

Deepak Ranjan Das, executive engineer of Water Development Board (PUBO) Sylhet, said that the water level has started to decrease due to lack of rain today. If there is no rain and landslides, the situation will improve quickly.
