At least 50 people including 15 policemen were injured in a clash between police and BNP leaders and activists during a BNP rally at Gangachara in Rangpur Thursday.

According to police and local sources, BNP called for a protest programme at Gangachara protesting against the rising prices of goods and murder of Jubo Dal leader Shaon in Narayanganj when a clash broke out between police and the BNP men.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (A Circle) of Rangpur District Police Hossain Raihan confirmed that 15 of the police personnel sustained injuries during the clash.
Further legal action will be taken in this regard after discussion with senior officials, he added.
