An advocacy meeting was held at Khulna CSS Ava Center on Wednesday with the aim of coordinating sexually transmitted disease management services in public and private sectors, organized by Light House, a non-governmental development organization with the support of UNFP.
Advocacy meetings are organized for public and private physicians to work together to ensure and strengthen quality STI services in their respective fields. Khulna Divisional Director (Health) said. Md. Professor Saifullaj Munshi, Head, Department of Virology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, presented the keynote address at the Advocacy Meeting chaired by Munjurul Murshid. During the open discussion, the participants answered various questions of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Associate Professor of Microbiology. UNFPA Project Technical Officer Dr. Rahat Ara Noor highlighted the context of ensuring and strengthening STI services. Light House Deputy Chief Executive Officer KSM Tariq gave a welcome address at the beginning and conducted the meeting.
Speakers at the meeting felt that participation of all citizens in all spheres is necessary to move the country forward. Its goal is to ensure health care for all citizens of the country. Since we do not want to talk about these issues and we want to keep these sexual and reproductive health issues a secret, we need to take positive action. The speakers also mentioned that the outcome of the discussion on the issues at the advocacy meeting will have a positive impact in the future. Relevant officials of different levels were present at the advocacy meeting.
