Soybean oil price hiked again

The price of loose soybean oil has been increased by Tk 9.0 per litre while the bottled one witnessed a hike of Tk 7.0 per litre amid the consumers’ outrages.


With this new hike, loose soybean will cost Tk 175 a litre and bottled soybean oil will be sold at Tk 192 a litre which was Tk 185 earlier.


The Edible Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association set a new maximum retail price (MRP) of soybean and palm oil, according to a press release.


The price of a five-litre soybean oil jar has been increased to Tk 945 with a hike of Tk 35.


Palm oil's MRP, however, has been reduced by Tk 7.0 to Tk 145 per litre.


The association reviewed the edible oil price on July 20 this year, just one month ago.
