The police will be extremely vigilant in the security of the pujamandap

On the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md said police will be on maximum alert in the pavilions of Dhaka metropolitan area. Mainul Hasan.

He made this comment in a meeting regarding security, law and order and traffic management organized on the occasion of Autumn Durga Puja at the conference room of DMP headquarters on Wednesday (September 25).

DMP Commissioner said, the biggest religious festival of Hindus is Durga Puja. As every time, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police will perform its duty with utmost vigilance in order to celebrate Puja peacefully in the mandaps of Dhaka metropolitan area.

He said that all security arrangements have been made for pre-Durga Puja, during Durga Puja and on the occasion of idol worship. In the meantime, the police has started the Puja-centric security activities. During Durga Puja, police in uniform and plain clothes along with SWAT, Crisis Response Team, Quick Response Team, Crime Scene Van and Bomb Disposal Unit will be ready round the clock.

Calling on the Puja Celebration Council leaders, Mainul Hasan said that CCTV should be kept active at all times in the mandaps during Puja. Each mandap will have round-the-clock security by law enforcement personnel as well as its own volunteers.

DMP Commissioner requested to contact National Emergency Service 999 or nearest police station in case of emergency. He expressed hope that with the collective efforts of all, the upcoming Durga Puja will be celebrated safely and smoothly in a festive and joyous atmosphere.

In the meeting, Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Farooq Ahmed said, We expect that Bangladesh, where people of all religions can practice their religion without any disturbance. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) of DMP. Israel Howladar said that the DMP will coordinate with the leaders of every temple in the Dhaka metropolitan area to ensure perfect security during Durga Puja.

At this time, Joint Commissioner of Police (Operations) Sana Shaminur Rahman presented detailed information about the security, law and order and traffic management of DMP on the occasion of universal Autumn Durga Puja through Power Point presentation. The leaders of the puja celebration committee present sought the full cooperation of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police for the security of the mandap and proper traffic management on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Detective) Rezaul Karim Mallick, Additional Commissioner of Police (Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime) also spoke at the meeting. Masud Karim, Additional Commissioner of Police (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shaukat Ali, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Khondkar Najmul Hasan along with the leaders of the puja celebration committee.
