Travel thirsty Md. Ayatullah. COURTESY
He is fascinated by the history-tradition, manners, culture and language of different regions of the country. The language and historical sites of the people of different districts always attract him. That is why the curious mind comes out to travel to Bangladesh. In this way, he has visited 64 districts of Bangladesh. This time his the is to travel the world.
I was talking about travel thirsty Md. Ayatullah. He is a Masters student in the Department of Islamic Studies, Rajshahi University. Copleting with Netrokona, he has recently completed a tour of 64 districts of the country. Sometimes, he has been with a friend in this long journey, sometimes alone. He shared his experience after visiting 64 districts.
Ayatullah said that he started his journey on November 23, 2018 with Ramsagar Dighi, Rajbari, Kantjir Mandir, Nayabad Mosque, Swapnapuri Picnic Spot in Dinajpur. HE traveled to 35 districts of the country before the COVID epidemic hit. Then in 2020, he took a break from traveling due to coronavirus. At the end of the lockdown, the remaining 29 districts were completed. On 21 January 2022, he completed a tour of 64 districts of Bangladesh through a tour of Birishiri's Chinamati Hills, Green Water Lake, Tribal Cultural Academy and Someshwari River in Netrokona.
In this long journey, as his knowledge has been enriched, so has the taste of bitter experience. Ayatullah said, 'I have been camping on the side of the road including railway station, launch dock and mosque.' Occasionally I spend the night in a low-cost hotel. I have also stayed in the zoom house of the indigenous tribes in Bandarban. Sometimes I have had problems with food. I had to eat various inedibles including cooking semi-raw chicken. Sometimes I had to go without food due to financial problems.
He also said that he walked for hours to reach the huge mountains in different parts of the country without eating. Sometimes he had even walked up the hill with torch light in the middle of the night. Which was a terrible experience of life. To get to these mountains, he walked in the water equal to the chest. I have been robbed twice. Still did not stop. Because I wanted to travel all over Bangladesh. So I visited all the districts of the country one by one.
Asked about the purpose of traveling across the country, Ayatullah said, 'I came out to know and learn about the culture, values, customs of the people of different places, regional languages of different districts, history and heritage and historical places.' I wanted to know the whole of Bangladesh, I wanted to go to every corner of the country. My goal was to see the hundreds of old historical sites scattered all over Bangladesh.'
Asked about the cost, Ayatullah said that travel has become much easier due to the presence of friends and well-wishers in almost all parts of the country. He have completed the journey in different vehicles including motorcycles. He used to pay for the hobby of traveling with the small amount of money that his family used to pay for living expenses. Now the dream is to travel around the world.
