Police have recovered the remains of a minor boy from Bayezid Bostami shrine's pond in Chattogram's Bayazid area.
The deceased was identified as Nur Alam, 9, son of Nur Mohammad. He used to live in a slum near the shrine.
Local spotted a human skull, trunk and legs in the pond on Tuesday and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body parts.
After analysing CCTV footage, the identity of the boy was confirmed.
CCTV footage showed that Nur Alam fell into the pond on Monday while providing food to fishes in the pond, said Priton Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Bostami police station.
The skeleton has been sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital's morgue for autopsy.
An unnatural death case has been filed with Bayezid Bostami police station.
