The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested three suspected members of banned militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh (HuJI-B) in an operation in Dhaka’s Sayedabad area on Thursday.
The suspects are Mohammad Mainul Islam alias Mahin alias Mithu alias Hasan, Sheikh Sohan Shad alias Bara Abdullah and Murad Hossain Kabir, said a DMP press release on Friday.
Law enforcement officials captured them around 5.15 pm at the area under Jatrabari police station and seized a private car, five mobile phones, a microphone, a machete, two knives, 10 detonators, 170 iron ball bearings, scotch tape, five litres of acid, three Identity (ID) cards and one Jihadi book from their possession.
A case has been filed against them with the Jatrabari police station.
