Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir has been honoured with the "TRAB Smart Performance Award-2024" for his outstanding contribution to the housing and jewellery industry.
The Television Reporters’ Unity of Bangladesh (TRAB) gave this award at a discussion and cultural event titled "International Mother Language Day and Smart Bangladesh" held at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday.
Imdadul Haq Milan, director of the East West Media Group Ltd and editor-in-chief of the Kaler Kantho, received the award on behalf of the Bashundhara Group managing director.
Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda was present on the occasion as the chief guest.
Meanwhile, Rabindra Sangeet maestro Rezwana Choudhury Bannya has been awarded for her contribution to music, Ahsan Ullah Moni, a freedom fighter, for his contribution to culture, Mohiuddin Maharaj, member of parliament from the Pirojpur-2 constituency, for human welfare, Abu Hena and Morshed Zaman for poetry, and Kona Reza, the owner of Pan-Supari, has been awarded as a successful entrepreneur.
The event was presided over by Redwan Khandkar, President and Chief Advisor, TRAB India Bangladesh Global Friendship Forum while Shajahan Khan MP, former shipping minister, inaugurated it.
President of Television Reporters' Unity of Bangladesh Salam Mahbud delivered the welcome speech.
