Works underway to provide e-commerce ID to women entrepreneurs

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said Wednesday that women entrepreneurs have come forward to take part in the country's trade and commerce and work is underway to provide E-commerce ID to facilitate their business and financial cooperation. 


“In this way, women entrepreneurs would be able to easily avail the facilities provided by the government,” he was speaking as chief guest at ‘5th WE Colorful Fest-2022' organized by Women and W-commerce (WE) in city’s Dhanmondi area, said a press release. 


The minister said the government is cooperating with the women entrepreneurs and will provide more assistance if needed. He also called upon the women entrepreneurs to continue their hard work to reach the goal.  State minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak presided over the meeting.


He said that the people of the country are enjoying the benefits of digitization. Almost 13 crore people of the country are connected through internet and almost two lakh people have got employment through e-commerce, he added. 


The fair will continue till March 31 at Mariott Convention Centre in Dhanmandi. About 88 entrepreneurs participated in the fest with various local products including readymade garments and handicrafts.
