Walton is symbol of the success of Bangladesh, terming it German Ambassador in Dhaka Peter Fahrenholtz hoped that the Bangladeshi electronics brand would be the global market player.
“Bangladesh has made a rigorous progress in the past few years. Walton like industry is a showcase of the Bangladesh’s such progress,” the German ambassador made the remarks after visiting Walton Hi-Tech Part at Chandra in Gazipur on Thursday (June 3, 2021).
Peter Fahrenholtz said, ‘Walton has developed so well. I am very much impressed. Walton has a vision to be a global player through producing quality products. Today, I witnessed that Walton invested good enough on advanced technologies’ machineries mostly from Germany to produce quality products. I hope that Walton would be a global market player.’
Visiting Walton factory, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Dhaka Constanza Zahringer said, ‘I was surprised. Walton is a well-structured factory in Bangladesh.
Earlier, the German ambassador and the deputy head of mission visited refrigerator, compressor, LGP and LDP, motherboard and TV manufacturing units as well as the products’ display center at Walton Hi-Tech Park.
On Thursday morning, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited (WHIL) Managing Director Engineer Golam Murshed welcomed the German envoy and the deputy head of mission presenting a flower bouquet.
Following proper health safety rules and social distance, WHIL’s Deputy Managing Directors Humayun Kabir and Alamgir Alam Sarker, Walton’s International Business Unit (IBU) President Edward Kim, Executive Directors Col. (Retd.) Shahadat Alam, Uday Hakim, Yusuf Ali, Firoj Alam (also chief marketing officer), Amin Khan, Yeasir Al Imran, Rakib Uddin, Walton’s European Business Head Tawseef Al Mahmud, and Deputy Executive Director Rezaul Islam Minar, among others, were also present.
WHIL Managing Director Engineer Golam Murshed said, ‘Germany is generally called as a nation of ‘The father of Technology’. And thus, a good number of German technology’s advanced machineries was installed at Walton factory. Centering Germany, we have set up our global business expansion plans in Europe. I hope that today’s visit of the German ambassador and the deputy head of mission will further strengthen the Bangladesh’s bilateral trade relations with Germany.’
Walton’s European Business Head Tawseef Al Mahmud said that Walton made locally finished hi-tech goods are being exported to some 10 countries of the Europe.
