Sonali Bank launches eWallet

The countries largest state own Sonali Bank has formally launched mobile Apps-based eWallet Banking Service to generate more transactions reducing their customers' time and energy. Sonali Bank Limited Board of Director’s Chairman Ziaul Hasan Siddiqui  unveiled the Sonali eWallet services in the first hours of celebration of birth centenary of father of nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the bank’s head office premises.

Sonali Bank Limited CEO and Managing Director Md Ataur Rahman Prodhan said that cashless transaction would make clients life easier and safer. He also stressed the need for meeting the growing demand of digitalization to provide world class services to the customers.  Among others, members of Board of Directors, deputy managing directors were present on the occasion. 

While conducting transactions with the Sonali Bank Limited, the Apps users will also be able to transfer funds into the accounts opened with other banks, see their account statements, mobile recharge, utility pay bill, credit cards bills, branches and ATM locations etc.   

Apps Banking is an application that resides on a smart phone, under which clients operate their bank accounts round the clock. Customers can download the app from google play store/Apple App Store. Both the android and OIS based cell phone users can use the Sonali eWallet .

Using the Apps launched by Sonali Bank, the customers will be able to conduct transactions through their accounts opened with the  Bank in 24 hours of the day. 

While conducting transactions, the Bank's menu based application program will secure transmitted data and almost every handset can support this feature.

Using the Apps, the users will get visual direction to locate ATM booths and branches. As a result, a user having no idea about a new area will be able to locate the nearest ATM booths and bank branches through Google Map and street view service.

The Bank authority has also ensured strong security in its Apps banking system through firewall, device ID, PIN number and One Time PIN (OTP).
