Information Technology Minister assures support in the process of incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Ansar-VDP ERP enhancement and transformation
To further advance the ongoing digital transformation program of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force and to build an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based smart administration, the force's Director General, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, has sought the support of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. To this end, he today paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Fakir Mahbub Anam, MP, and outlined the direct role of the force's overall digital system in the socio-economic development of the marginalized communities.
During the meeting, the Director General presented the ongoing digital transformation activities of the force and the connectivity and future prospects based on the accountability and transparency of the established beneficiaries of the core features of AVERP (Ansar VDP Enterprise Resource Planning). He said that the human resource management, training, deployment, allowance distribution, public service and any campaign and social programs including employment and entrepreneurship activities of the force are already being managed in a large and comprehensive digital management through various interconnected smart platforms including AVMIS, APMIS, EMIS, AVJOBS, TRGMS, CRM, STDMS, IADMS and AVSSO.
The Director General further mentioned that the growing database and multi-dimensional digital interaction of this large force of about 6 million members is creating a strong foundation for the development of Big Data, Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Model (LLM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in the future. He said that the force's own data-based LLM and AI-driven automation system will be able to play an important role in smart decision-making, skill analysis, training and employment management and facilitating accountable public services in the future.
The Honorable Minister termed the initiative as timely, innovative and future-oriented. He directed to organize a special meeting soon in collaboration with the concerned government stakeholders to verify the feasibility and effective implementation of this important issue involving a large number of people at the marginal level.
According to experts, the addition of AI and LLM technology to the existing digital infrastructure of Ansar-VDP will not only enhance the administrative efficiency of the force; but can also play a role as an effective model in data-based decision-making, human resource development, employment management and modernization of citizen services at the national level.
The presentation titled Digital Management of the Force was attended by Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Director General (Training) of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force and concerned senior officials.
