President of the United States (US) Joseph R. Biden has formally accepted credentials of new Bangladeshi Ambassador to the US M Shahidul Islam. In an acceptance letter signed on February 17, 2021, President Biden welcomed the new Bangladeshi Ambassador to the US, according to a press release received here today.
Biden expressed his government’s desire to advance common goals and deepen the strong and abiding friendship between the US and Bangladesh.
The US government has not been arranging the traditional ceremony for in-person submission of the credentials to the President due to exigencies of COVID-19 pandemic, the release said.
Formal acceptance of the credentials by the President was done in a ‘paper-based’ process, it added.
