Three members of an organized gang of thieves were arrested with country-made weapons in a brave, professional and risky operation by Ansar members affiliated with Sikder Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. Later, they were handed over to the concerned police station for necessary legal action.
On Tuesday (July 28), at around 7:30 pm, an organized gang of thieves consisting of 5-6 members tried to steal hospital goods at Sikder Medical College Hospital under the jurisdiction of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar (DMA) South Zone. At that time, Ansar members on duty, Mr. Sajib Roy, Jewel Rana and Joy Shil, chased them, but the members of the gang fled from the scene.
After a while, the gang of thieves returned to the hospital area and tried to escalate the situation by throwing bricks and stones at the Ansar members. However, the Ansar members did not panic and quickly brought the situation under control and immediately conducted a coordinated operation with other Ansar members stationed in the camp.
At one stage of the operation, three members of the gang of thieves (chapati) along with country-made weapons—Md. Roni (22), Sabbir (22) and Salam (21)—were caught red-handed while chasing them. At that time, the other members of the gang escaped taking advantage of the darkness.
The chapati recovered from the detainees was seized. Later, on the instructions of the hospital authorities, they were handed over to the concerned police station for taking necessary legal action.
