The extension of Western Low Pressure is extending from West Bengal to Northwest Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal, the Meteorological Department has warned of rain and heavy rainfall over the country.
The weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 6 pm on Friday (June 21) has been announced by the Directorate.
The agency said that on Saturday (June 22) till 6 pm in most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; Some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions and one or two places of Khulna and Barisal divisions may experience light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thundershowers. Also, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
On Sunday (June 23) light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thundershowers may occur in most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and a couple of places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions till 6 pm on Sunday (June 23). Along with this, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
Weather conditions are likely to remain similar to the previous day till 6pm on Monday (June 24).
The extended five-day weather forecast states that rainfall trends may increase towards the end of the period.
