In-form Brothers Union batsman Mizanur Rahman became the first batsman to smash a ton in the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League, but his efforts could not help Brothers win against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club as rain forced the game to be called off at BKSP 4 on Thursday.

Mizanur, skipper of Brothers, has been in tremendous touch lately as the right-handed batsman now sits atop of the run-getters' list in the league with 418 runs in 11 games. The 29-year-old already smashed three fifties in the tournament before reaching the three-figure mark today.  Mizanur completed his century off 65 deliveries, smashing 13 boundaries and three maximums at a strike rate of 153.84. Brothers amassed 133 for two in 17 overs before rain halted proceedings. This was also Mizanur's maiden T20 century.  No further play was possible as the game had to be called off eventually.  Meanwhile, Rony Talukdar's quick-fire knock helped Prime Bank maintain their stay at the top of the league as they beat Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity by five wickets via D/L in a curtailed over game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

Batting first, Khelaghar could only manage a score of 68 for five in a game that was reduced to 10-overs-a-side due to rain. Opener Shahriar Komol scored a team-high unbeaten 31 with only two other Khelaghar batsmen reaching double figures.  Chasing a modest total, Rony smashed 39 off just 19 deliveries. The right-hander played fluently, hitting seven boundaries and one maximum, on a day when national team players like Tamim Iqbal, Mohammad Mithun failed to leave a mark. Courtesy of Rony's blistering knock, Prime Bank romped to the target with five balls to spare. Prime Bank, who had already confirmed their Super League spot, remain top of the league's standings with 18 points from nine wins in 11 games.  The other game at BKSP 3 between Old DOHS Sports Club and Prime Doleshwar was also cancelled due to rain.
