Bangladesh hockey team participated in the Junior AHF Cup with a mission to retain the title. The representatives of red and green became the undefeated champions like last season with great performance. Bangladesh beat China by 4-2 in the final.
Neither team could score in the first quarter on Sunday (June 23) on Singapore's turf. Bangladesh took control of the match by scoring three goals in the second quarter. Hasan scored two goals from the attack in the 22nd and 27th minutes. Amirul Islam widened the gap from the penalty corner.
After the break, China came back into the game in the third quarter. China's Xia Long scored a field goal in the 33rd minute. Eight minutes later, Chen scored another goal from a penalty corner to bring the game back to a fierce contest.
Joy Field scored in the 53rd minute to extend the gap to 4-2 before China equalised. With seven minutes remaining of the match and no more goals, Bangladesh touched the champion trophy of the tournament.
Earlier in the beginning of the day, the runners-up were the girls of Bangladesh. The Hockey Federation sent the two teams to Singapore to play the tournament amid many hurdles. But pushing away hundreds of problems, in the end, both teams are returning home successfully.
