Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Muhammad Farooq Khan urged Turkey to invest in the country's tourism sector.

He made this call when Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen met the minister at the Secretariat on Thursday (May 16).

The minister said that Bangladesh guarantees the best investment environment in South Asia. The labor cost of our country is quite reasonable compared to other countries. We have a large internal market of endless possibilities. Turkish investors will be given all kinds of support if they invest in the potential tourism industry of Bangladesh. Investors will benefit from investing in Bangladesh's tourism industry and tourism infrastructure.

Mentioning the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Turkey, he said, like many other industries, the two countries have a partnership in the aviation industry. However, the tourism industry can turn this friendly relationship between the two countries into a people-to-people relationship. Our two countries have a lot of opportunities to do things jointly in this industry.

He also said that Turkey has many years of experience in tourism industry management. We want Turkey to help provide tourism industry training to our country's tourism industry workers. Tourism can be especially considered in the scholarships that the government of Turkey offers to students every year to study various subjects. Exchange of experience and expertise in the tourism industry will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

During the meeting, the ambassador of Turkey said that due to the economic progress of Bangladesh, the importance of Bangladesh's aviation and tourism industry is increasing day by day. We want to further strengthen the existing relationship between the two countries in the aviation industry. We already have joint investments in various industries in Bangladesh. I will talk to Turkish investors and encourage them to invest in various sectors of the tourism industry.

The ambassador of Turkey also said that we are interested in sharing Turkey's long-term experience in tourism industry management with those working in the tourism industry in Bangladesh. I will be contacting Turkish institutions to provide training on the tourism industry to staff working in the tourism industry. Any institutional proposal for imparting training will be seriously considered. Apart from this, I will inform the concerned office in Turkey that tourism should be considered separately in providing scholarships to Bangladeshi students in various subjects. The aviation and tourism industry partnership will elevate the friendly relations between our two countries to a new level.
