The decision about MP Anar's seat

The second meeting of the Working Advisory Committee of the 12th National Parliament discussed about the seat of Member of Parliament Anwarul Azim Anar of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency. No decision was taken in the meeting as the death of MP Anar is yet to be confirmed. But his seat will be declared vacant only after formal confirmation.

Wednesday (June 5) Speaker Dr. The second meeting of the working advisory committee of the 12th National Parliament was held at the National Parliament Building under the chairmanship of Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

It is known that the committee member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim raised the issue of Anwarul Azim Anwar, Member of Parliament of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency, who was 'murdered' in Calcutta, India. After his death was officially confirmed, the seat was declared vacant.

In the meeting, committee members and parliament leader and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in the meeting. Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali participated in the meeting as per the intention of the President. The members of the committee are Leader of the Opposition GM Quader, Amir Hossain Amu, Abul Hasanat Abdullah, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim, Obaidul Quader, Rashed Khan Menon, Anisul Haque, Deputy Leader of the Opposition Anisul Islam Mahmud, Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Deputy Speaker Md. Shamsul Haque Tuku, Dr. Dipu Moni, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury and AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen participated in the meeting.

The session will begin on Thursday (June 6) at 3 pm. After that there will be no sessions on Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays. However, the session will be held on June 22 and June 29 Saturday. Sessions will be held from 11 am to 1 pm and from 7 pm to 10 pm daily. The session will be adjourned on June 13 and resume on June 19. The speaker is empowered to make any changes regarding the time and working days of the session if necessary.

A total of 1,972 questions were received in the session held on Thursday, including 82 for the Prime Minister and 1,890 for other ministers. 54 attention notices were received in rule-71 and no notices were received in proposal (general) rule-147. The number of decision proposals in Rule-131 is 129. Private bill notice not found. Out of 5 government bills, 3 are under examination in committee, 1 is awaiting passage and 1 is awaiting introduction in Parliament.
