Tech being developed so that robots can speak Bangla: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak on Friday said technologies are being developed so that robots can speak in Bangla. “Necessary software is being developed to establish Bengali as the language of the United Nations ….We are developing the technology so that robots can speak Bangla under Bengali language enrichment project,” he said.

He was speaking as the chief guest while experimentally launching ICT department’s website “Bangla.govbot bd”, said a press release. “This is 100 percent government-funded project and local resources are being used here, he said. “Through this program, collaboration between academia and ICT industry is taking place and all the Bengali speaking people of the world will directly

get benefit from it and the members of minority ethnic groups and people with hearing and visual impairments will also get the advantage.” “Bangla.gov.bd” is a technology platform for language technology and artificial intelligence.
