Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah, who was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Kutupalong Rohingya camp in the district on Wednesday, was laid to eternal rest at the graveyard inside the camp Thursday afternoon.
Kutupalong Rohingya Camp in-charge (deputy secretary) Mehedi Hasan said that Mohib Ullah was buried following a Namaz-e-Janaza after Asr prayers.
He said that situation inside the camp remained normal since morning as no untoward incidents happened.
Additional police personnel have been deployed in the camp to avert any untoward incident since the killing took place on Wednesday, he said.
Hasan said that earlier the autopsy was done at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue and later his body was taken to the camp by an ambulance around 3pm today.
Cox's Bazar police super Md Hasanuzzaman also said that the situation remained normal as no demonstrations or rally was held today.
He said that Mohib Ullah was very popular leader among Rohingya.
Investigation is going to find who are involved with the killing and what the reason is behind the incident, he said, adding that they have already got some information.
The SP said that none is yet to be arrested over the killing. Three battalions of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) along with police are working to keep the law and order under control, he said.
He said that police is preparing to lodge a case through discussing with relatives of Mohib Ullah.
