Sacked members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) are holding a sit-in protest at the Central Shaheed Minar in support of six demands. Since Tuesday morning, the dismissed BDR members and their family members have gathered at the Shaheed Minar in the capital.

The protest is being organised to demand the reinstatement of dismissed BDR members and the release of those imprisoned, among other six demands. The movement has been organised by the BDR Welfare Council under the banner of "Justice for BDR".

Faizul Alam, the president of the organisation, said, "The innocent individuals imprisoned due to the farcical Pilkhana massacre case must be released. Those who were unjustly dismissed must receive all government compensations, and the six-point demand must be implemented immediately. We will continue our sit-in at Shaheed Minar until 11, 12, and 13 February. If we do not receive positive news within this period, we will announce even stricter programs."
