Prime Minister may visit China on July 8

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to visit Beijing from July 8 to 11, Foreign Minister said. Hasan Mahmud. He expressed the expectation of significant progress in the field of development in this visit of the head of government.

The foreign minister said these things after a meeting with Li Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who was visiting a hotel in the capital on Monday (June 24).

The foreign minister said that there is a high possibility of the Prime Minister's visit to China between July 8-11. China has played an important role in development in many areas. We expect that there will be significant progress in the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister. We are looking forward to this tour.

Hasan Mahmud said about the discussion with the Chinese minister that China is our biggest development partner and biggest trade partner. We discussed the trade deficit. We import about 13 billion from China. And we export a quarter of 1 billion.

 
 

The minister said that the Rohingya issue has been discussed and said that we have talked about reducing the trade deficit. We said, they can take medicine, leather and ceramic products from us.

Stating that China's assistance has been sought in the repatriation of the Rohingyas, the minister said, "I have sought China's assistance in solving the Rohingya problem, especially in the repatriation of the Rohingyas." We discussed the Gaza issue. We expect China to play an active role in this regard.

Mentioning that China's support has been sought to include Bangladesh in BRICS in any format, Hasan Mahmud said, I have sought their support for the inclusion of Bangladesh in BRICS, regardless of whether it is a member country or a partner country.

Regarding the discussion on China's investment in Bangladesh, the foreign minister said, "We have discussed that more Chinese investment should come to Bangladesh. The Chinese minister expressed interest in further investment in our country.

When asked whether there was any discussion on the Teesta multi-purpose project, the foreign minister said that it was not discussed today. Development has been discussed.

A delegation of senior leaders of Awami League will visit China later, Hasan Mahmud said, junior leaders of our party have visited China. I have discussed that the senior members of the party will also go.
