Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar has said that the post office must come out of the conventional system. "There is no substitute for applying digital technology to the post office, taking advantage of the immense potential of the digital age...the post office has to be built as one of the best service organization in the country," he said.
He said this at a programme on implementation of the action plan on digital post office in the joint venture of the Postal Department and A2I Program at Dak Bhaban Auditorium in Agargaon of the capital on Monday, said a press release.
He said the Digital Service Design Lab (DSDL) proposal, designed to make the post office suitable for the digital age, was a historic milestone in the establishment of the digital post office.
The minister expressed his firm hope that the postal service would be promoted to the desired level through the implementation of this master plan prepared with the help of experts.
Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications M Khalilur Rahman presided over the function while Additional Secretary of Selima Sultana, A2I Chief E-Governance Trajectory Farhad Zahid Sheikh spoke on the occasion.
At the beginning of the program, Director General of Postal Department Md. Siraj Uddin presented the master plan and strategy of digital post office through digital presentation.
