Each household will receive Tk450
The Bangladesh government will provide 10,009,949 families with financial aid ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To that end, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated Tk450,44,77,050, according to a press release issued Wednesday.
Each family is going to receive Tk450, which is equivalent to the price of 10 kilograms of rice, under the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) program of the ministry.
The financial assistance will be provided to helpless and extremely poor families to help them celebrate the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr in a joyous manner, said the media release.
“Priority will be given to households affected by recent natural calamities and destitute families. Amid the ongoing Covid-19 situation, this assistance provided before the holy month of Ramadan will help increase the purchasing power of those families.”
