Now Brahmanbaria sadar Police station’s inspector transferred

Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Shahjahan has been transferred and attached to the control room of the police super office.

Brahmanbaria Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) Md Roish Uddin confirmed that the decision was taken as per an order issued by the Police Super's Office on Wednesday (19 May) afternoon.

He said Inspector Kazi MasudIbn Anwar who was previously under Chattogram District Police will be taking over Shahjahan's post.

Earlier, Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station OC  Abdur Rahim was transferred and attached to the Rangpur range of police on 26 April.

On May 11, Md Ishtiaq Ahmed, inspector (operation) of the same police station, was transferred to the Chatalpar Police Investigation Center under Nasirnagar Police Station.

These decisions came after the Hefazat-e-Islam supporters and activists caused mayhem in Brahmanbariacentring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh on 26 March. 

The activists and supporters of Hefazat-e-Islam conducted a massive riot across the district on 26-28 March opposing the Indian prime minister's visit. 

They carried out vandalism and set fire to various government establishments including the office of the superintendent of police at district Sadar, civil surgeon's office, district council office, municipality office, music academy of Ustad Alauddin Khan, Sadarupazila land office, and district library. 

A total of 55 cases have been filed in this connection, cops said adding that 49 cases were filed with Sadar Model Police Station, four in Ashuganj Police Station and two in Sarail Police Station.

The cases were filed accusing 414 people and another 35,000 unnamed ones.
