Maulana Abdul Malek is the new Khatib of Baitul Mukarram

Maulana Muhammad Abdul Malek has been appointed Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. On Thursday (October 17) he was approved by the highest levels of the government to appoint Khatib.

This information was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Friday (October 18).

Maulana Abdul Malek is a scholar who has obtained higher degrees in Islamic Studies, Hadith and Fiqh from renowned educational institutions at home and abroad.

World famous Mufti Justice Taqi Osmani is his teacher. He conducted advanced research on Hadith and Islamic law for two years under the guidance of Sheikh Abdul Fattah Abu Guddahar (R.H.), one of the best Islamic scholars in the Arab world and Professor of Usuluddin Faculty of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Maulana Abdul Malek visited Pakistan, India and Türkiye including Makkah-Madinah and presented papers in various national and international seminars. He has already written a total of 16 books in Bengali, Arabic, English and Urdu languages.

In addition, a research journal named Masik al-Kawsar is published regularly under his supervision.

Earlier, Allama Mufti Ruhul Amin was the khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. He is Muhtamim of Gopalganj Gahardanga Madrasa. He has been absent from the mosque since the change of government on August 5.

After that, he was removed from the Khatib post on September 22. He was accused of absenting himself from the mosque and causing ruckus in the mosque with his followers.
