Law Minister Anisul Huq said that the government will have to take action per law to ensure public safety and convenience if anyone causes turbulence.

Law Minister Anisul Huq said that the government will have to take action per law to ensure public safety and convenience if anyone causes turbulence.

He made this statement regarding the nationwide students’ ongoing quota reform movement while talking to journalists at Brahmanbaria’s Akhaura Railway Junction on Friday morning.

"The government's responsibility is to protect the lives and property of the citizens. If anyone disrupts this, the government must take action according to the law," the minister said.

Urging the students to respect the Supreme Court's ruling, the minister added, "I believe they do not want to cause public inconvenience or suffering. I think they will go back home.”

Responding to a query about whether he sees any political undertones in the ongoing protests, Anisul Huq said, "I cannot deny that the same entities who opposed Bangladesh's independence and conspired to assassinate Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman might be involved in these conspiracies to some extent. This is understood by both us and the public."

Regarding the recent question paper leak scandal and the arrest of Syed Abed Ali, Huq said, "I cannot comment on what I do not know."
