KrayonMag and Volunteers Opportunity will share the story of independence

On the occasion of the golden jubilee of the great independence, 'Volunteers Opportunity' and storytelling platform 'KrayonMag' will spread the history of the great liberation war and independence among 50 special groups in different parts of the country. The organizers started this exceptional work program with a special webinar on the occasion of the great Independence Day, which will continue till March 31, 2021.

The inaugural webinar of the special campaign titled "Freedom in the Eyes of the 50's" featured artist and media personality Meher Afroz Shaon, actress and media personality Ashna Habib Bhabna, sustainable fashion activist and artist Faiza Ahmed and project lead of micro-merchant bazar bondhu, Sarah Jita. Criminology researcher Sumaiya Iqbal conducted the program. The organizers will end the campaign with another webinar on March 26 and the closing ceremony on March 31, the last day of the great month of independence.

There are still innumerable groups in different parts of Bangladesh, some living in remote areas, some living on the coast, some low-income, some floating, some sex workers, some special needs people and some small nationalities, many of whom have an accurate history of independence. They have very little idea about the context of the liberation war and the liberation war or the story of building Bangladesh is obscure to them. The true history of the Liberation War will be told directly to such 50 group of people by the volunteers of Volunteers Opportunity, their community engagement partners Shobuj Kham, Rotaract Club of Chittagong Welfare and CRDD.

In the inaugural webinar of the campaign "Freedom in the Eyes of the 50's", Tanziral Dilshad Ditan, the main story presenter of KrayonMag, said,” It is a great responsibility for all of us to convey the true history of our country to them and KrayonMag will always work with them to bring them into the mainstream of society.”

In the inaugural webinar of the campaign "Freedom in the Eyes of the 50's", Mr. Mithun Das Kavya, Founder and CEO of Volunteers Opportunity said, “We are very happy to take the initiative to tell the story of independence to the marginal and low-income people of Bangladesh in the 50 years of independence with the cooperation of all 50 communities. We hope that by telling stories, we will be able to awaken patriotism among some people of the society and they too will contribute a lot to build a beautiful Bangladesh. We want our stories to spread worldwide.”

5 communities of floating Bedes in Barisal, Gazipur and Rangpur; 10 communities of lower class people in Dhaka, Mymensingh area; 3 communities of affected people in the coastal area of Barisal; 3 Shaotal villages of Rangpur, Dinajpur and Panchagarh areas; 4 communities of people affected by climate change in Chittagong; Dinajpur 5 marginalized communities in Bogra, Dhaka, Sherpur, , 4 orphanage and 5 Hindu communities; Volunteers have shared and listened to their stories of independence directly with people from 3 harijan communities from Rangpur and Dinajpur. Apart from all these, story of freedom will also be shared among floating sex worker community, a transgender community and two differently skilled worker community in Dhaka.
