The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that the decision regarding the ban on journalists' entry into the Secretariat is temporary due to the situation arising from the recent fire incident.

Faisal Hasan, the senior public relations officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, provided this information in a statement on Saturday (December 28).

The statement mentioned that restrictions on journalists' access have been imposed in light of the investigation of the Secretariat fire incident. It emphasized that the decision is temporary and that a meeting with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will be held soon to reach a positive resolution.

Earlier on Friday (December 27), an order signed by the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, Khoda Bakhsh Chowdhury, cancelled the temporary entry passes issued to private individuals for the Secretariat. Additionally, journalists' accreditation cards were suspended until further notice.
